Teresa Eickel, Soprano
In the 2011-2012 season, Teresa was seen as the soprano soloist in the concert series, Around the World in 80 Minutes, in Boca Raton, FL with internationally acclaimed violinist, Yi-Jia Susanne Hou. She also appeared as the soprano soloist in the concert series, All the Good Stuff in North Carolina, West Virginia, and Connecticut. In May 2012, she debuted her programmatic recital program, Bury My Heart, with actor Ryan Stadler and pianist Saffron Chung. In June 2012, she created the role of Vera Goodman in the world premiere of Slaying the Dragon with Center City Opera in Philadelphia.
Teresa Eickel has also performed as a solo recitalist at the Ravinia Festival’s Rising Star Series and has garnered critical and audience acclaim as the title role in Madama Butterfly with Mobile Opera, Festival Opera, Boheme Opera, Bear Valley Music Festival, Opera Fairbanks, and Ashlawn Opera. She also appeared as the soprano soloist in Mahler’s 2nd Symphony, Resurrection, with the New Haven Symphony.
Tyson Deaton, piano
Tyson Deaton has gained attention as one of the busiest collaborators of his generation. Known for his vast repertoire and versatility of style, he is sought out by singers and instrumentalists alike. Recent engagements have included recital tours in Asia, the west coast, and Southeast, along with a vocal chamber music recital with various singers and instrumentalists from the Metropolitan Opera. Hecontinues to tour a program of contemporary works with baritone Matthew Worth, which began thisFebruary. With baritone Scott Guinn, he premiered David T. Little’s setting of “To a Stranger,” which he cocommissioned with the Walt Whitman Project of New York.
Mr. Deaton has worked as pianist, coach and conductor with many opera organizations such as Atlanta Opera, Fort Worth Opera, Sarasota Opera, Opera Camerata of D.C., Opera Southwest, Skylight Opera, The Seagle Music Colony, Opera Company of North Carolina, Opera New Jersey and Wichita Grand Opera, Edmonton Opera to name a few, garnering critical acclaim in Opera News along with other various publications.
